Solo-Curious? Four Ways to Start Exploring a Solo Trip to Disney World

Should you take a solo trip by yourself?

Probably! But solo travel isn't for everyone. Try these four things to start envisioning how awesome a solo trip could be for you!

Here are four ways to start exploring a solo trip to Disney World:

1. Eat by yourself
This tip comes from Cristi.PhDisney and Farrah Rochan's Solo Stories. Before going on a whole trip by yourself, start practicing spending time with yourself. Take yourself out for dinner. Plan an afternoon at a garden or museum. Start thinking about what you REALLY like to do/eat. Even go a little road trip on your own (Amazon paid link)!
Bringing a podcast or a book to keep you company is cool, but don't distract yourself from really feeling how awesome it can be to be alone (Amazon paid links)! Maybe even do some journaling to track your thoughts and feelings while out alone (PS This Villains journal is so cool! (Amazon paid link)).

2. Plan an ideal day from home
Download the My Disney Experience app and start poking around. What rides are you drawn to... What might your ride strategy be? Check out some menus... What would you mobile order right now? Where might you want to make a reservation? Explore characters meet and greets... Who might you want to meet? Start thinking about being at Walt Disney World and what your ideal morning, afternoon, and evening might look like. This journal was designed for Disney travel and maybe getting it early will inspire you to fill it out (Amazon paid link)!
Once you start thinking about it, you realize how Disney mornings hit different, ya know?

3. Take one hour for yourself during your next family trip
If family vacations to Disney are a norm for you, see if you can take at least one hour to yourself to ride a ride, eat something yummy, or just walk around. How did it feel to do things on your own? Did you wish the time was longer or at a different time of the day (fireworks by yourself could be magical!)?
If you can't take an hour, but really want to, know that is also a sign that its time to plan your own solo vacation! Make that magic happen for YOU (Amazon paid link)!

4. Join a solo community

Seeing (or hearing!) other people embrace and enjoy their solo time in the Parks may inspire you to book your own trip! There are Facebook groups, Instagram accounts, and podcasts that all feature #SoloMagic. It won't take long for you to want to join us!
