Overview of Disney World Hotel Categories
When choosing accommodations at Walt Disney World, guests can select from three main categories of Disney hotels: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. Each category offers different levels of amenities, price points, and overall experiences. This post identifies some key differences.
Value Resorts
- Interested in a Value Resort as a Solo Traveler? Here are some Pros and Cons for you to consider when booking your trip!
1. Price: These are the most budget-friendly options.
2. Themes: Bold, fun, and larger-than-life themes. Examples
include Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
3. Rooms: Standard rooms with basic amenities. Generally
smaller (around 260-277 square feet) and designed to accommodate up to four
guests.
4. Dining: Primarily quick-service food courts with a
variety of options.
5. Pools: Themed pools but without water slides. They are
still creatively designed and fun.
6. Transportation: Bus transportation to all parks. Some
Value Resorts like Pop Century and Art of Animation also have access to the
Disney Skyliner.
7. Amenities: Basic amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi, self-service laundry, and a simple gift shop. Fewer recreational activities compared to higher-tier resorts.
Moderate Resorts
- Interested in a Moderate Resort as a Solo Traveler? Here are some Pros and Cons for you to consider when booking your trip!

Value Resorts but at a higher cost.

options. Some resorts have lounges and themed dining experiences.

smaller pools throughout the resort.

resorts offering boat or Skyliner access.
7. Amenities: More recreational activities such as bike rentals, fishing, and jogging trails. Some have additional amenities like fitness centers and spas.
Deluxe Resorts

1. Price: Highest pricing, offering the most luxurious
accommodations and amenities.
2. Themes: Highly detailed and immersive themes with a focus
on luxury and comfort. Examples include Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort &
Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
3. Rooms: The largest rooms (starting at around 344 square
feet) with the highest quality furnishings and amenities. Options for suites
and club-level service with additional perks.
4. Dining: Multiple dining options, including fine dining
restaurants, character dining, quick-service options, and lounges. Signature
dining experiences available.
5. Pools: Elaborate themed pools with water slides, hot
tubs, and poolside service. Often multiple pools, including quieter ones for
adults.
6. Transportation: Convenient transportation options,
including monorail, boat, and Skyliner access, in addition to buses. Some
resorts are within walking distance to certain parks.
7. Amenities: Extensive amenities including concierge
service, full-service spas, fitness centers, extensive recreational activities,
